MacBook run over by a van

Have We Mentioned We Fix Macs?

Some of the weird and wonderful repairs we have had at Infinite Loop

Over the 35 odd years we have been repairing Apple devices, we have had some interesting and challenging jobs. Often these are jobs that Apple and other repairers have turned away, leaving the customer the only option to replace the machine, and we all know how expensive that can be. Often we are peoples last chance to save those precious photos and memories (yes we do data recovery too)

My Mac has been run over!

Liquid Damage

This happens more often than you’d think. It even happened to Will our MD. He put his laptop bag down by the rear wheel while he was packing away from an exhibition. He then jumped in the van and reversed, the laptop bag toppled over and he ran over the bag, he then went forward and ran over it again. Not only did the bag contain his MacBook Air, but also his iPad Pro. However, running your own Mac repair business has its advantages, and all the MacBook needed was a new screen. The iPad survived.

This brings us onto another point, Will was able to get back up and running quickly as he picked up a spare machine and restored his data from his daily backup. All back up and running within 2 hours.

Liquid damage MacBook

Liquid damage is our speciality. We have seen it all, cat/dog wee, protein shakes, beer, wine, breast milk and even vomit! Funny story, when Will our MD took the call about the MacBook that had been vomited on, he thought he was being wound up, the guys name was Chucks!

Apple are very expensive when it comes to liquid damage, often quoting £600 plus for repair. We are consistantly cheaper. Also, Apple’s solution often involves replacing the main logicboard, which means losing all your data. We repair to component level, so we fix the logicboard preserving all your data.

So if you have a liquid damaged MacBook, make us your first call.

My iPhone Has Been Trampled By A Horse!

iPhone trampled by a horse

Turns out horses can do quite a lot of damage to an iPhone. iPhones are one of the easier repairs we do, and normally involves replacing a screen or a battery, but on this occasion a horse had pretty much destroyed the iPhone. No matter, we retrieved the important components from inside the phone and transplanted them to a new phone enclosure and popped a new screen on. Good as new!

How The Mighty Have Fallen

MacBook falling from building

MacBooks being dropped and thus breaking the screen is one of the most common repairs we do, but this one was a bit different. The MacBook had fallen from the 12th floor balcony of an apartment. The MacBook was pretty messed up, however it was repairable but the customer decided they would just buy a new one. He did however need the data, so we sold him a new MacBook, recovered the data and put it onto the new MacBook. No having to reconfigure all his email accounts, diary etc, it was ready to go.

As you can see, we are experts at what we do, so if you have a MacBook, iMac, iPad, iPhone or Apple Watch that needs repairing, get in touch. No job is too big or too small.
